▸ Case #1 — CPSC Recall of 4.8 Million Units / Fire & Laceration Hazards (January 2024) The U.S. CPSC announced a recall of all BlendJet 2 portable blenders (serial numbers 5201–5542, sold October 2020–November 2023 at Costco, Walmart, and Target for $50–$75) after confirming the blender blades could detach during use and the battery could overheat or catch fire. The company received approximately 395 incident reports prior to the recall being issued, including 49 confirmed burn injuries and $150,000 in documented property damage. Consumers were advised to immediately stop use and contact BlendJet for a free base replacement.
